The synthetic categories lets you gather and group all your special offers and all your new products into a condensed category tree.
The welcome page with its display is also a synthetic category.
The synthetic categories are calculated from products you have marked as special offers, new products, and from the products that you assign to the welcome page.
You have the option to modify or erase products when accessing these categories. Changes are made to the original product at the same time.
If you have enabled synthetic categories, modifying, adding or deleting of a special offer or a new product, or a product from the welcome page, requires recalculation of the sub-set categories. Click on Hide Synthetic Categories then Show Synthetic Categories to make the changes visible.
Run the Synchronisation after any synthetic category changes.
